MAGIC IS AS REAL AS YOU BELIEVE IT TO BE

Hi Friend,

Thanks for stopping by.  You are in the right place if you want to use the pleasure principle to take your waking dreams to the next level.  You are also in the right place if you are ready to reconnect to your own magic.  You are also in the right place if you want to:

  • emancipate your imagination
  • generate bliss
  • relax yourself whenever you want
  • curate and cultivate your inner realms
  • create change in mysterious ways
  • leave behind aspects of the past that don’t fit you anymore
  • have deep relationships with mystical guides, teachers, spirits
  • be able to dial in on how you want your life to feel
  • become adept at adventuring into visionary dreamscapes
  • healthfully entertain yourself with truth and beauty.

I hope you enjoy yourself every time you come here and find great things in this digital wonderland.  This is where you will find guided meditations and other insights specially designed to lead you into the most fantastic frontiers of your own inner worlds.

What you won’t find here is a lot of dogma and rules about being a “perfect meditator”.  My stance is that everything is grist for the mill and if you show up to meditate, you’ve already won.

If you want a tiny meditation pep-talk, check out some of my Open Letters.  If you want a big meditation pep-talk, check out VISIONARY 101 and YOU ARE HERE.

Have fun, don’t forget your towel,

Jessica Snow

HOW I BECAME THIS KIND OF GUIDE

When I was a little girl my favorite thing to do was read myths and fairy tales.  I have always believed in magic and in general, always have felt very at home in “imaginary” worlds.  I also always have been super creative, making art and things all the time.

Of course as a teen, growing up in a beach city in L.A., I sensed that in order to grow up I would have to put away these “childish” things.  So I became an AP student and a cheerleader and that was kind of a wrap on all that.

Fortunately the universe always knows what it is doing and on a literal whim I went to college in Northern California where I found a lot of nature and hippies and magic vortexes of various types.  I also went on a retreat on Mt. Shasta that BLEW MY MIND.

So now I was all in on art + magic again, but never dreamed it would be something that I could do professionally or at least not in the way I enjoy now.  I came home from L.A. and worked a series of jobs over the next thirteen years (software marketing, instructional technology, homeless shelter, children’s museum, photo assistant, fashion marketing) that left me so anxious and unfulfilled I turned to meditation in 2002.  And while I wasn’t serious about my jobs, I was 100% serious about my meditation practice.

It wasn’t until I had my son and watched my husband start his own business that I realized it just might be possible to make a true living doing something I love.

Luckily (again) I went on a shamanic retreat in 2011 that positively rearranged my whole take on meditation and this new kind of modern spirituality in general.  At that retreat we meditated on someone else’s behalf and again my mind was blown.  I realized that for nine years I had been just meditating in my own little bubble and that this was something I was uniquely suited for that was worth sharing.

I got home and got to work.  I created full and new moon meditation ritual extravaganzas which I offered to my friends in my backyard.  Pretty soon my friends brought their friends and so on.  Gradually, organically my powers bloomed and I was onto something.

Once again, enter synchronicity.  In 2012 I happened to attend my friend’s wedding in the desert and after the reception we were sitting out under the night sky and Mark and Martin from Spellbound Sky said, “we just opened a crystal shop in Silverlake, maybe we could do a weekly meditation?”  Hilariously, it took us about four weeks to make it a crystal meditation and that’s when everything really took off.

Since then I’ve guided hundreds of events with thousands of people, written three books, collected a lot of crystals and witnessed an extraordinary amount of magic.  In late 2016 I realized that it is really fun and magical to do live events, but I also had to find a way to guide people even when I can't be physically present.  (Like right before you go to bed, or in your car during a break from work.)  So in early 2017 I created the Streaming service so you could literally wake up, put on your headphones, press play and start meditating.  So far the response has been excellent and I am already getting new ideas of how I can add new amazing things for the Streamers.

So that’s where we are today and I can't wait to see what we create next.

BIO

Jessica Snow is a meditative storyteller and energetic alchemist.

She has been called “the type of person who is so full of love and light that it’s impossible not to feel buoyed by her joy” by Refinery 29, and C Magazine says she “tells a great story”.

Since 2011, her bright imagination, the magical quality of her voice and her friendly demeanor have made her a popular and beloved spiritual guide in her hometown of Los Angeles.

Jessica writes, creates, records and leads inventive mystical experiences that are profound, pleasurable and visionary.   Her specialties are beautifully modern crystal, nature, lunar and alchemical meditations that improve how you feel as well as how you experience life and show up in the world. Jessica loves being people's 'first time' meditating and she wants everyone to experience how beautiful the inner realms can be.

Jessica has been meditating since 2002, has a Bachelors of Science in Instructional Technology and lives in Los Angeles with her husband and son.

Her main purpose is to get you back in touch with your own magic.

She also really, really loves Stevie Nicks.

"There is always magic to be summoned at any point. I love to live in a world of magic, but not a fake world of magic. We all really basically have a lot of magic....it's only those of us that choose to accept it, that really understand it. It's there for everyone. That's the only thing that I feel that I am able to give to people and that's why I know that they respond to me because I try to give them only their own magic...not mine, but theirs."

"I love Jessica's tracks and honestly, hers is the only voice I can stand in a meditation narrative. Plus she doesn't tell you to shut your brain down. She's like 'let it roam free'. Plus her stuff works. She is Virgo, with Jupiter/Ceres in Pisces Rising and Neptune on the North Node...Super Haute Neptunian."

"Jessica Snow tells a great story.  As an L.A.-based guided meditation teacher, she has led some imaginative mental safaris–across a moonscape, through a desert lightning storm, into a magical forest–to help people tap into their inner creativity and peace... Her inventive visualizations get the literary treatment in a new self-published book 99 Visions ($33), illustrated by Margaret Gallagher. It is the perfect gift for spiritual seekers and a bedside companion for inspired dreamers." - C Magazine, October 2015

"Crystals have long been thought to hold specific energy within them–Citrine, for example, fosters a connection to creativity–and Phillips, Anguiano, and Snow build each meditation around a specific crystal that they've chose. Then, they set an intention, so the practice is grounded in positive thought. Each meditator is asked to pick the week's crystal from a small plate, along with a card detailing the specific powers of the crystal, and find a space on a mat. From there, where you keep your crystal during the meditation is up to you–whether it be on a chakra, in your hand, or on the floor beside you." - Refinery29, June 2015

"Every Friday night, a group of local artists, chefs, screenwriters, fashion designers, and indie celebrities like the French singer Soko file into the Sweat Spot, a dance studio in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles, for a crystal meditation session." - W Magazine, Sept. 2015 (note: Although I am not mentioned in this article by name, the writer is reporting on our weekly crystal meditation that I have been leading since 2012.)

"Arguably the hippest of Los Angeles’ metaphysical destinations, Spellbound Sky is the go-to for spiritually inclined artists, musicians, and various celebs (even LA icon Angelynne is known to pop in from time to time). The shop was opened by Mark Phillips and Martin Anguiano, friends who left careers in the fashion industry to pursue their passion for esoteric tools: namely high quality crystals, ritual candles, and essential oils, the items for which Spellbound Sky has become known. The shop also hosts workshops and classes, including their wildly popular weekly guided crystal meditations, led by “spiritual luxury” expert Jessica Snow. But it’s really the incredible variety of crystals and highly knowledgable and friendly owners and staff that make this Silver Lake store a must-visit destination for true seekers and new dabblers alike." - The Standard's Guide to Weird LA Wellness
